“The cloud” has revolutionized from being a substance-free buzzword, into a buzzword that brings significance to businesses. Companies such as Google, Amazon and Salesforce led the way for this transformation during the past years. Cloud services at home, in the workplace and in enterprises has increased significantly.
In this year of cautious optimism and grinding economic growth, it is safe to say that buying won in the proverbial buy versus build question. In 2010, many companies slashed costs and hoarded cash. However, in Q1 2011, the economy began to grow and growth expectations in the market elevated; as a result, equity investors favored growth companies.
Microsoft is helping game developers roll out games faster by offering them tools and, in return, having them host their games on Windows Azure. Microsoft launched this week at the Casual Connect in Seattle, a toolkit for developers that provides the basic code for a number of back-end game technologies which all game developers typically must build but find it time consuming to create.

If a survey will be conducted on the most glorified technology trends of the year, there are only two answers most people will say; it’s either cloud computing or smartphones and tablets. It’s everywhere on wall discussions of most IT forums and communities. While some vendors are busy slapping these products, the trend is still up for these two giants. And millions of dollars on investment continue to flood into cloud computing and mobile applications.
A recent research study from IDG stated that business IT solutions in Europe should have the agility in providing its end-users the powerful forward motion through cloud computing. The study surveyed 600 IT mangers as their respondents, and out the 600, 90% agreed that the cloud clearly provides the means to access services in a timely and self-managed virtual platforms. 60% of the respondents said they will make adjustments to the current budget to accommodate transition applications for the cloud.
